How cool!
I usually fill up once it's on the last bar, even though it still has approx 8 litres left!
So as a guide line, what can I expect to get once that comes on? This info may come in handy if my scots trip happens next week

Have a look at the poll results. Based on averages, you expect 6-6.5 litres of reserve fuel to get you anywhere between 60 and 90 miles. For me, to keep the maths simple, I assume 200 miles to the F-Trip flashing and work on 50 miles of spare fuel thereafter, which seems to be fairly representative of the middle ground.

I've never got anywhere near the 300+ miles on a tank some achieve and, even thrashing the nuts off the bike, never close to being as low as the lowest mpg figures here. Of course the actual figures vary widely depending on tuning, riding style, weight, weather etc. etc.

At 20-25km/l 5km would consume less than 1/4 liter - Total usable tank capacity with filled neck is ~24,75liter
Thank you for the extensive test!!
Results are truly appreciated!!

According to tesco it's possible to fit 38 litres into a xt660z!

I filled up a few weeks back at their wembley station using pump no1. It is one of the pay at pump units. It was taking a long time so I pulled out the spout and only dribbles were coming out accompanied by air sounds. I need fuel so go somewhere and I was near empty so I carried on hoping to dribble enough in. It wasn't long before petrol started coming through again but properly but it looked like the previous dribbles registered as proper flow as the pump registered 38 litres! The kiosk was closed so I took a pic. I emailed tesco and they spoke to the manager and I went back when it was open to get a refund for the extra. They were pretty adamant it can't happen but it did. I Googled it and it's happened to others in cars but again the person reporting it gets ravaged by others saying it can't happen.

For me (XT660ZA 2016 ABS) 351-377 km, before F-Trip flashing.. Tested for 18.000 km.
I always refuel up to the lower side of the fuel tank filler tube with 100 octane fuel (Shell "Racing").

Only thing I did differently this time was add Militec metal conditioner to the oil; from Zenoverland. This bike just keeps getting better. Over 70 mpg![/QUOTE]

why did you add this to the engineoil?

392km just today - filling 17,7l a few kilometers later: that makes 22km/l for an average cruising speed of about 80km/h plus some occasional offroad.

My daily commute (Monday-Friday) on the 2009 Ten is 480 kilometers (300 miles) per week, and in addition I may ride some during the week-end. I fill petrol Monday mornings on my way to work, as that's when it's cheapest around here. Only road riding, but it's often ridden as fast as it goes. Today (Saturday) it has gone 547 kilometres (342 miles) since filling last Monday. 141 kilometres (88 miles) on F-trip.

The bike has a tall Givi screen and a high Touratech seat, otherwise stock. I do appreciate the range.

Filled it to the rim with 23,26 liters this morning after at total of 549 kilometers (343 miles) rough riding since last filling. Must have been pretty empty, although no signs of the engine running unevenly.

Feel I have been lucky with this bike. Versatile, runs comfortably, totally smooth - and economically!
